FAQ
The Ins And Outs of How We Do Business
-
How does the robot work?Using a boundary wiring system and intelligent GPS technology, the robot is always cutting a small amount of grass so you have a freshly manicured lawn all the time. The grass clipping is muluched adding important nutirents back into your lawn for optimizing lawn health.
-
How does your service work?Nature Joys provides general service and price plans for robot only, robot + eco-service lawn trimming + edging care, and special packages that also include spring and fall cleanups to start and end the season. Our lawn service plans are for 4 years. All our service plans offer free installation with robot acclimation training in a single day and the robot remains on your property during the season mowing and charging 24/7. We bill monthly during season which is 8 months of the year or March - October, and we provide free off-season, winter storage.
-
What happens to the grass clippings? The robotic mower’s precision cutting takes a very small amount of each blade of grass: the cuttings are almost invisible and disappear into the lawn. The lawn is perfectly cut, achieving a beautiful and carpet-like look. The razor-sharp blades cut the grass gently from all directions, helping it to grow strong and the mulched grass cuttings act to fertilize the lawn and keep it healthy.
-
Does the robot work in rain and wind?Robot mowers are completely weatherproof and are unaffected. They will continue to cut during the rain with the same results.
-
Will it cut and mulch leaves? The robotic lawn mower will continue to work as normal and make small slices into the leaves. It will not completely mulch and rake your yard of leaves and some small cleanup will most likely be required.
-
Do I need to charge the robot?Every installation has a base station, to which the robot automatically returns for charging when the battery reaches a certain voltage. The robot can find its way back to the charger by means of the boundary wires, a special guide wire that we lay under the ground, and signals emitted by the base station. No user intervention is required. If for any reason the mower becomes unable to reach the base station, it will stop operating and preserve the remaining battery charge.
-
What size yard does the robot mow?Our JoyBot robotic lawn mowers can handle small to large mowing capability. Small lawns, an 1/4 acre or less. Mid-sized lawns, 1/2 acre sized yards. Large lawns - about 1 acre.
-
What's included in installation? All installations include boundary wire, home base wire and charging station. For standard installations, this generally includes a relatively open lawn with a mostly clear wire path free from obstructions. For non-standard installations, this generally includes some level of complexity and effort due to slopes or obstructions, such as, driveways, sidewalks, trees, gardens, existing in ground pet fences, pools, sprinkler systems or underground electrical.
